'Congress is a Muslim Party’ are not only some words or verdict by someone. Now the sentence became a great controversy in India. The matter highlighted during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Uttar Pradesh is gaining back to back replies from both of the political parties.

Prakash Javadekar, a member of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) and the incumbent Union Minister of Ministry of Human Resource Development on Monday claimed that Congress is Muslim party and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accepted the fact. “Rahul Gandhi said Congress is a Muslim party. Now he is quiet about it. But he cannot deny it. There is proof,” ANI quoted Javadekar’s verdict.

The HRD minister was addressing a press conference where he also added that “His minority morcha president also said in Urdu daily Inqalab that Rahul Gandhi is right about this. The newspapers didn't publish anything wrong. There is proof,”

Reportedly, on 11th July’s meeting with Muslim intellectuals and activists the Congress president declared that “Yes, Congress is a Muslim party,” On Thursday Urdu daily news also claimed the same and the news went viral on social media and viewers there accused that the party is trying to appease the minority by the announcement. Later, PM Modi while referring to the same news on Saturday asked that is there really a party for Muslim.

However, Congress has regularly denied such allegations and even claimed that its BJP’s tactics to mislead the nation. Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress spokesperson tweeted that “This is absolute lies&shameful spin by the newspaper. The BJP using it to further its own agenda, yet again, exposes their desperate tactics to mislead the nation. However this will not deter us to fight for India's founding principles& its democratic values,”
