President Kovind, PM Modi greet to nation on Eid-ul-Fitr

New Delhi [India], June 16 (NT): President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday extended their greetings via micro blogging website Twitter to the nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

President Kovind wished  for joy to Muslim families and foster fraternity as saying,

"Id Mubarak and good wishes to all fellow citizens, especially to our Muslim brothers and sisters in India and abroad. May this happy occasion bring joy to your families and foster fraternity, understanding and mutual goodwill in our shared society," President Kovind Tweeted.

The Prime Minister also extended his warm greetings to the people and wished  for harmony through his social media handle.
"Eid Mubarak! May this day deepen the bonds of unity and harmony in our society," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state Congress president Kamal Nath were captured together at Bhopal's Idgah to observe the occasion.

As we all know that Eid ul-Fitr, an important religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide,  which marks the end of fasting the holy month of Ramzan.

On a related note the festival is celebrated  on the first day of Shawwal which is called the 10th month of Islamic lunar calendar.

In this the festival feasts and the meeting of families, relatives, and friends are held, where the community exchanges greetings and gifts with each other. (NT)
