Prime Minister Narendra Modi started to speak at BJP HQ in Delhi but stopped his address soon after upon hearing the Muslim prayer 'Azaan' in the background.

After the Azaan, he resumed his speech and referred to the brutal killing of nine 'innocent' BJP workers in Kerala, terming them as 'martyrs'. He even observed silence for two minutes to pay homage to their martyrdom. He dedicated BJP's victory in three northeastern states to those nine BJP workers.

"Be it Kerala, Bengal or Karnataka, the way 2 dozen workers were murdered there, when they can't fight to the face they stooped down to this. Still, we maintained silence. When we take action they cry 'vendetta'. This isn't vendetta but a step for the betterment of the nation," said PM Modi.

Speaking on the unprecedented victory, he credited Amit Shah for the tremendous victory in the three states. Further, he took a dig at the erstwhile leftist government saying, "When the sun sets it is red in color and when it rises it is saffron."

He expressed his gratitude to the people of the three states and BJP workers. He praised BJP workers for their dedication in making the party grow and rule in 21 states across the nation.

"People of the three states have vent out their anger through their votes," said Modi in his address.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bhartiya Janata Party headquarters in Delhi on Saturday evening. He was welcomed by BJP national president Amit Shah who felicitated him with a shawl addressing him as the "most famous Indian Prime Minister". Coincidently, the event was organised in the newly built BJP headquarters.

The meeting kickstarted with Shah chanting "Bharat Mata ki Jai" saying that this day is historic for BJP.
