India fight against the visitor in the first test match after trail by 122 runs. India dependable batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara done something magical, joined opener KL Rahul at the crease yesterday, on day 4, after the fall of Shikhar Dhawan. ML Jaisimha and current India head coach Ravi Shastri are the other two Indians to have achieved the feat. Cheteshwar Pujara who was the top-scored for men in blue side with 52 runs off 117 balls in the first innings which help India to score 172 runs in the first innings, and once again will be crucial to India fortunes in the match. In reply of 172 runs visitor score 294 runs. Sri Lanka manage to take lead off 122 runs.

Jaisimha did it against Australia in 1960, scoring 20 not out and 74, while Ravi Shastri entered the club in 1984 against England scoring 111 and 7 not out. Jaisimha was also the first ever batsman to achieve the feat. Interestingly, all these three knocks have come at Kolkata's Eden Gardens.
