RSS event updates: Former finance minister P Chidambaram applauded Pranab Mukherjee's yesterday speech at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh headquarters in Nagpur event.

Former president Pranab Mukherjee's gave his much-anticipated speech to the swayamsevaks at Tritya Varsh Varg (three-year course) function. While many Congress leaders were annoyed with the decision to be present there, the former union minister was one of the few ones who supported Mukherjee to participate in the event.

Taking  a Twitter handle Former finance minister Chidambaram said, “Happy that Mr Pranab Mukherjee told the RSS what is right about Congress' ideology. It was his way of saying what is wrong about RSS' ideology.”

On May 28, P. Chidambaram had said same sentiments that his colleague should present the event and take this opportunity to tell right wing that what is wrong with their ideology.

Chidambaram had also said that now Pranab Mukherjee has accepted the invitation and there is no point in debating why he accepted it.

 Former president's decision of attending the RSS event did not accepted by many Left and Congress leaders and created uproar in the political spectrum. His own daughter also condemned the acceptance of invitation given by RSS.

In the event Mukherjee was welcomed by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at the headquarters of the RSS. Here Pranab addressed on diversity, plurality and importance of dialogue along with nation nationalism and patriotism.
