Ahmedabad: Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Friday will kick off a two-day campaign in Gujarat, throughout which he will intermingle with populace of Dalit community.

 Rahul Gandhi will be presented with tricolor flag prepared by Dalits; the identical national flag that was meant to be presented to Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani past months ago.

Gandhi will go Gujarat to direct his party's election campaign following the first phase of polling for 89 seats next month.

The emphasize of his two-day travel around is the visit to the Dalit Shakti Kendra (DSK), a vocational training institute run by Dalit activists, close to Sanand town of this district tomorrow.

"During his visit, Rahul will acknowledge a giant national flag, measuring 125 feet in length and 83 feet in height, from Dalit students of the Kendra. He will also speak to locals and Dalits of surrounding areas at the centre," Gujarat Congress speaker Manish Doshi informed.

"This is the biggest national flag has ever made. Although it was meant to be presented to Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, he had rejects to accept it when Dalits went to Gandhinagar in August. When Rahul learned about it, he expressed his desire to accept the flag with full honor," Doshi further said.
