Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi attacks Prime Minister Narendra Modi and dubbed the GST as “BJP’s Gabbar Singh Tax” along with Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia. Adhia said the Goods and Services Tax (GST) requires a key reign, a day after.

Addressing a public meeting on Monday, Gandhi criticized the Centre for a ‘faulty tax system’ that is tearing down small businessmen and industries in the nation.

“The government disregarded all our suggestions on GST and introduced it with celebrations at midnight. In their GST, there is the highest 28% tax and three return forms that makes the GST Gabbar Singh Tax,” Gandhi scion said.

Demonetization and GST together have demolished the Indian economy, he claimed. “With one stroke of demonetization, Modiji broke the Indian economy but he did not stop there. He went ahead with GST, which has badly disturbed the small businessmen and industries,” Rahul Gandhi added.

OBC leader Alpesh Thakor, who joined the Congress two day before organized this rally to give a boost to the party ahead of the key Assembly polls to be held later this year.

In the 30-minute speech, Raul Gandhi asked the PM to break his silence over the business dealings of  Jay Shah,  son of BJP president Amit Shah whose company saw exceptional growth in turnover after the BJP came to power at the Centre.
