Manchester [UK], July 04 (NT): India crushed England on Tuesday with a booming eight-wicket win at Old Trafford in the first of the three Twenty-20 Internationals.

 Following their two-month tour of England, “China man “ Kuldeep Yadav and K. L. Rahul were the star performers for Indian side .

Yadav claimed his first five-wicket haul in the format while Rahul scored his second T-20I ton.

Now the men in blue have a lead in the 3-match series.

Batting first, England started perfectly as openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler made the 50-run mark within five overs. However, Roy was the first casualty of the innings by an Umesh Yadav delivery. He scored 30 runs from 20 deliveries.

Yadav first sent a stressed Alex Hales back to the pavilion in the 12th over and grabbed  the wickets of captain Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root in the 14th  over to end the threat of a dangerous batting line up.

Jos Buttler  who scored 69 runs from 46 balls he also fell to Kuldeep Yadav in the 18th over. In the end of first inning, England  posted 159 runs on the board .

Chasing a small 160-run target, India lost his first as Shikhar Dhawan who was clean bowled in the fourth delivery of the first over by Willey.

After That Rahul decimated the English bowling attack and scored his second ton in the shortest format, He made an unbeaten 101 runs from 54 balls, including as many as 10 boundaries and 5 sixes.

Rohit Sharma (32 from 30) and then Virat Kohli (20 from 22) provided the support to Rahul from othe side and India won in the second delivery of the 19th over.

On a related note the second match of the T-20 series will be played in Cardiff on July 6.
