Superstar Rajinikanth has appreciated Kamal Haasan for his plunge into politics. Kamala Haasan launched his political party named“Makkal Needhi Mayyam” at an event in Madurai on February 21.

Rajnikanth said Kamal Haasan is “efficient” and will earn people’s confidence when asked about Haasan’s political party MNM.

He termed Haasan’s political party launch “very nice” and said he has wished the Haasan earlier and after the launch of the party too.

“Kamal is efficient. He will earn people’s confidence,” said Rajinikanth.

Upon speculations of him joining the political league after Haasan but not with his party, he said, “Though, all (of us) tread different paths, what matters is public welfare.”

Rajinikanth spoke to the press and said he ‘welcomes’ the all-party meeting decision by Tamil Nadu Government to discuss the Cauvery issue. The meeting concluded to send a delegation comprising of leaders from all parties to Prime Minister Modi to demand setting up of a Cauvery Management Board and Cauvery Water Regulatory Authority as per Supreme Court directives.

The meeting comes after Supreme Court ruled on the Cauvery dispute recently.
