On Wednesday, Venkaiah Naidu, the chairman of Rajya Sabha appealed the members of the Lower house of parliament to make efforts in the smooth functioning of the Rajya Sabha.

Naidu made the statement in reference to the disturbance that was created in the house recently. Some MPs of the Congress walked out of the meeting which led to the disturbance.

The chairman asserted, "I was very upset yesterday when some members ran menacingly towards the well of the House. I hope it will not be repeated. I don't want to name anybody, House should function smoothly."
Amit Shah, the president of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in his speech, talked about the NRC. During his address, he talked about Rajiv Gandhi’s involvement in the Assam matter. Disappointed by Shah’s reference of Rajiv Gandhi, the Congress leaders left the Parliament meeting.

Talking about the matter, Shah had stated, "Rajiv Gandhi signed the Assam Accord in 1985, which was similar to NRC. They did not have the courage to implement it, we did."

Naidu appeal is completely justified. A proper discipline and code of conduct need to be followed to hold fruitful meetings in the Lower house of the Parliament.
