Director Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Bramhastra’ first shooting schedule started on Saturday in Sofia, Bulgaria. A Twitter post by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, which is producing the film, broke the news to the world.

“Today is the day when we embark on our new journey & we can't wait to unfold every step with you! There's no holding back the excitement for this one, so keep sending in your love for Ayan Mukerji and team,” tweeted Dharma Productions.

Before this official announcement, film buffs had already speculated about the shoot when the cast of the film including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy shared pictures from the locations on Instagram. The film is a love story in the genre fantasy-drama. Earlier, Ranbir and Alia’s training video with swords and shields have been doing rounds of the internet giving an insight into the film. Another picture with ID cards of the cast and crew with ‘Brahmastra’ written on it did the rounds on social media.

The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan in an important role. Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji are collaborating for the third time with ‘Bramhastra’ after ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.’

The film will release next year.
