Hichki, the movie or can be called a struggle to put every human being at the same level by considering their dreams, not the limitations that tried to keep away them from a normal human being, helped its lead role Rani Mukerji to gather appraises. After ruling on the Indian cinema for over two decades Rani cleared that glamour is not everything that kept you alive on the screen in your talent. The talent is recognized by Victorian Government in Australia also which decided to felicitate her on the worldwide platform with a special hosting in her honor.

The actress will receive the honor in Indian Film Festival of Melbourne that is presented by Victorian government for her tremendous contribution to the cinema and spreading awareness for such universal social causes.

For receiving such a wonderful acclamation the actress expressed: “The power of cinema to spread important social messages and enact positive changes is unmatched. As an actor, I have been blessed to have got the chance to be a part of such amazing films that have tried to make people sit up and think about society, the need to preserve human lives and to value each individual's dreams and aspirations. It is humbling to be honored by the provincial government of Victoria in Australia for a role that called for inclusion and equality of all individuals in our society. I’m thankful that my body of work has contributed to making positive change. Hichki is a very special film for me and this honor as part of the colorful Indian International Film Festival of Melbourne makes it even more memorable.”

Mitu Bhowmick Lange, the director of  Indian Film Festival of Melbourne appraises Rani’s contribution to the acting world which eventually helps our society to change in a worthy way, said: “Rani is a rare Indian artist who embodies the spirit of ‘Inclusion’ in her work and performances. Whether it is in films like Black or Hichki, she has championed the spirit of inclusion. Which is why this year, when we are celebrating Inclusion in our film festival, it is an absolute honor and delight for us to felicitate Rani Mukerji. The Victorian government is proud to recognize the incredible joy, depth, and awareness that Rani has brought for audiences through her work and is awarding her the ‘Excellence in Cinema’ Award this year.
