Many times you have noticed the loop at the back of your shirt but really don't have any idea what is it. It will surprise you with the fact if we tell you that it is there for a purpose, a very surprising one!

Men's fashion might have developed considerably, but that loop was always there on the shirt since the 1960s and here's why:

These loops were designed for East Coast sailors to hang their clothes on a wireline to dry their clothes. These loops save the shirt from growing wrinkles and the sailors could wear the shirt again the next day. It helps the shirt to get dry quickly and requires less space. Because of these loops, you can reduce the usage of the hanger.
Apparently, the trend grew from the seas and gained a place in cities and took a regular shape when the US, which started making shirts in 1060. What followed was men use these loops to hang their shirts on the gym lockers.

Also Called locker loops, the loops have now become a normal feature on shirts, but surprisingly not many of us use them for the idea they were created for.
