Exercising daily has its own benefits as we all know but exercising during pregnancy helps to reduce the time one woman spend in labour. Health starts form womb and exercising is one of the best ways to give your baby a healthy start.

According to the new research, exercise can also affect how long pregnant mothers spend in labour.

The team of researchers conducted a study with 508 healthy women by randomly allocating them to two groups. 253 women were put in the control group, while 255 women were placed in the exercise group. The exercise group followed a moderate aerobic exercise programme during three weekly sessions.

Then the researchers analysed a number of factors while women gave birth. They came to the conclusion that the pregnant mamas who were participating in aerobic workouts while their pregnancies were more likely to spend less time in labour than the women who hadn't.

The women in the exercise group were also less likely to use an epidural during childbirth.
Furthermore, neonate macrosomia was more common among the mothers in the control group.

While exercising during pregnancy may help mothers recover their shape after giving birth, getting back into shape after carrying a baby for nine months is far easier said than done.
