One of the most awaited movies of the year, Omerta, was all set to hit the screen tomorrow. But Rajkummar Rao's starrer movie has been postponed for three weeks. Now the next schedule for the movie is decided to be released on May 4, 2018.
When asked about it director Hansal Mehta said that they knew that it wouldn't be a cake walk with the Censor Board given that the film has a fair bit of violence and strong language. They didn't want to cuts those scenes because that would take away the essence of the film, therefore they had to wait. The Censor Board Chief and members of the revising committee understood how certain scenes could not be removed since they are essential for audiences to understand how a terrorist's mind works. Hence the wait and that's why a decision has been taken to release Omertà on May 4th.
While producer Nahid Khan said, "The team was waiting for CBFC’s clearance for the film. We’re happy to announce May 4th as the release date for Omertà. We know audiences are eagerly awaiting the film's release. It's just a small change of two weeks. We don't mind the delay as long as we have managed to keep the essence of the film intact."

Earlier when asked about the movie Rajkumar stated that it's a dark wold and he has no idea about the protagonist. He was unaware of his belongings and what he did. Eventually, after reading the script and reading on the internet he came to know about the person. Hence he started to get into his character of a strong guy. He also tried to incorporate the culture and language of London for the movie.
