Thursday; July 21, 2016: Rupee opened lower at 67.22 per dollar in early trade today.

Mohan Shenoi of Kotak Mahindra Bank said, "The dollar has strengthened across the board due to improved US labour data with US unemployment rate falling below 5 percent. ECB rate setting meeting later today will be the main focus."

He further added, "The USD-INR trading range for the day is seen between 67.10-67.40/dollar."

As per the forex dealers said, ? the rupee's fall to increased demand for the American unit from importers and dollar's strength against some other currencies overseas. However, a higher opening in the domestic equity market capped the losses.?

However, the benchmark BSE Sensex advanced by 72.87 points, or 0.26 %, to 27,988.76 in early trade
