Ruslaan Mumtaz, the actor who regularly played many roles as a chocolate boy in TV series is now portraying an antagonist in the web series ‘Zakhmi’ along with Tia Bajaj.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actor claimed that instead of playing a villainous role he is “the hero and the villain in this story." He further added that “Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, they have all played negative roles but they are not really villains of today. They are still heroes. I think today, people have moved on from typecasting anyone as a hero or a villain and hence, I did not have any apprehension."

While presenting his views on the switch that he has taken in his roles, he said: “I am more comfortable in a romantic role because I have always done that and in that sense, this was a challenging role for me. But once I was into the character, I started enjoying it more than anything else,”

“I just met her directly for the shoot as during workshops we couldn't meet due to different timings. So, I was waiting for the scene sitting with Vikram sir when he introduced me to Tia and said now, you have to kiss in the first shot. One cannot even imagine what it must be like. I have done kissing scenes before but then you spend enough time with the actress to feel comfortable, there is trust. But, here I was a little unsure because it was to be my first impression with Tia. But Tia seemed prepared so she tried to close me up with small talks,” he stated while presenting his views on the shooting of the intimated scene with Tia Bajaj.

While answering that he is open for more web series or not he said: “Earlier, I used to get a lot of offer from the web and I used to always refuse them. There is a lot of sexual content on the web which I am not comfortable with. All the shows that I was offered were sexual content based shows because the net doesn't have a censor. There was a lovemaking scene even in this series but then I know how Vikram Bhatt shoots and hence, I was comfortable knowing I am in safe hands.”

He also talked about his choice as “The content matters to me. On TV and films, there are scenes which cannot be shown and hence you can put your foot down and say 'I won't shoot that'. But since the web has no censor, people end up shooting things they are not comfortable with and hence I avoid those projects. If there are things that do not involve nudity, I am comfortable with it,”
