Sabarimala : Supreme Court Agrees to Hear 49 Review Petitions Against Women Entry in Open Court on Jan 22

Sabarimala: The Supreme Court has agreed to hear in all 49 open court review petitions challenging its judgment allowing entry of women of all ages into Sabarimala temple. SC said that the review petitions will be heard on January 22. Kerala BJP president Sreedharan Pillai has called the Supreme Court’s verdict to hear the merits of the 49 review petitions in an open court a win for the protesters who prevented the women entrance in the temple complex having menstruation age. Earlier in the day, the top court had said it will commence hearing writ petitions only after orders on the review pleas.

The Kerala High Court, meanwhile, on Tuesday took suo moto cognisance of the violent behavior at Sabarimala Temple after the Supreme Court ordered to open the gates of the place of pilgrimage to women of all age groups. It has also sought an clarification from the Travancore Devaswom Board.

In addition no Stay on Sept 28 Top court Order –

The Supreme Court  said there will be no stay on its verdict which allowed entry of women of all age groups in Sabarimala temple.
