Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced his plans to rename the city of Faizabad to Ayodhya. The decision by the saffron party BJP leader came just few weeks after Allahabad was renamed as Prayagraj.

Addressing a public meeting during Diwali celebrations in Ayodhya, CM Adityanath said that BJP won't let anyone erase memories of Lord Ram from the hearts and that is what his government at the Centre is ensuring. He added that no one can do injustice to Ayodhya and the aspirations of the people from Ayodhya are top priorities of BJP.

The chief minister also assigned around 175 crore rupees for the development in the name of Lord Ram at ‘Ram Rajya’. He said that earlier, leaders used to feel ashamed of coming to Ayodhya but he has come here more than 6 times in the last 18 months.

Worth mention here a number of projects have been undertaken by BJP. A huge 30 feet statue of Lord Ram has been installed on the banks of the Sarayu river, along with that of Lord Hanuman, for grand Diwali celebrations in the city. Lakhs of diyas (lamps) were lit at Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of Sarayu river to set world record. CM Adityanath announced that ‘Ram Ki Paidi’ will be developed on the lines of ‘Har Ki Pauri’ in Haridwar.
