On Saturday, Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi expressed his opinion on the issues relating to the sanitary napkin. He informed that the Sanitary Napkins have been excluded from the GST (Goods And Services Tax).

During a media interaction, Manish Sisodiya talked about the 28th GST Council meeting which is being held in the Nation Capital, Delhi. You would be knowing that Manish Sisodia has been assigned the task to handle the Finance portfolio. He revealed that a lot of things that were included under the 28 percent slab have been brought down.
Manish affirmed, "I think the 28 percent tax slab should be done away with. The issue is being unnecessarily dragged.”
He also informed that the quarterly tax returns for traders that manage a turnover up to Rs 5 crore have been agreed upon by the GST Council.
Manish Sisodia later added, “no decision has been taken yet on sugar cess”.
It has been a long time since the application for excluding the sanitary napkins out of any taxes was filed in the court.
A number of students from Gwalior, in January, had initiated a campaign that included writing messages on the Sanitary pads and sending them to the Prime Minister of the country, Narendra Modi. The campaign was aimed at excluding the Sanitary pads from all the taxes imposed so that every woman could afford a healthy menstruation.
