The Year 2017 is gone but not properly some controversial chapter of the past year is still in the row with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s great epic Padmavati now known as Padmavat. The film which has been in news for almost a year now stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh essaying the role of Rani Padmavati aka Padmini, Maharawal Ratan Singh and Alauddin Khilji respectively. The film which was earlier slated to release on 1st December 2017 was deferred after facing opposition from fringe groups.

Ever since this period drama was on floors, the film has faced quite a number of events. From malicious mischief on the sets to the director being slapped, the film has seen it all.And if that wasn’t enough, the death threats being issued in November and bounties only served as a cherry on the cake for the rising tension surrounding this Deepika starrer.

As 2018 kick-started, there seemed hope for this film. There came news that the CBFC has passed the film with the support of a special committee and given it a UA certificate asking SLB to make five modifications. And while fans rejoiced with this news, who knew that one of the points from the modification would result in 300 cuts. Yes, you heard us right!
