The researcher is working on a technique through which the eyes can produce tissue and the electricity can be produced from mouth saliva.

In its research, a special protein present in the scientific tear and saliva used lysozyme to build electricity. By keeping this protein under high pressure, it will generate energy, which can be used as a fuel.

This protein, named lysozyme, is found in oats, saliva, milk, eggs, which breaks the enzyme present in the body.Researchers at the University of Limerick discovered that electrical charge can also be generated with the help of this protein.

On the thin layer of protein, when researchers began to make pressure through the glass plate on either side, there was a kind of energy generated between the plate, this kind of energy is called piezoelectricity.

Physicist Stapleton told the protein generated from the protein that it is not fatal because the protein is a biological substance, so it can be used in many ways.

"While piezoelectricity is used all around us, the capacity to generate electricity from this particular protein had not been explored. However, because it is a biological material, it is non-toxic so it could have many innovative applications such as electroactive anti-microbial coatings for medical implants." explains one of the researchers, physicist Aimee Stapleton.
