Switzerland's smallest mountain village now has become a giant hotel to save it from abolition. The mountain hamlet of Corippo, which is located in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino in Switzerland, has concluded that it would likely face total extinction in the future as there are only 13 inhabitants left.The village, at an altitude of 600 metres (1,968 feet) above sea level, once in a time had a thriving community in its small piazzas and in its little church when the population was still 300 people.

-The mountain town of Corippo, situated in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

-The village, which is located an altitude of 600 metres (1,968 feet) above sea level, once had a thriving community in its small piazzas and in its little church when the population was still 300 people. Pictured is a bedroom inside one of the cottages.

-According to media reports, Corippo expects to open to visitors in the spring of 2018

-The village, with its an amazing stone house, narrow alleys and grand mountain vistas will be turned into one big hotel complex to bring life back to it.

-The project got its inspiration from Italy, where similar redevelopment schemes have brought life to ghost towns
