Senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother Gurcharan Kaur was found dead at their home in Mohali today. This is alleged case of double murder.

CHANDIGARH: Senior journalist K J Singh and his nonagenarian mother Gurcharan Kaur were found dead at their residence in Mohali, police said today.

Police officials are on the spot for quick investigation. "There was injury marks on their necks," Mohali deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Alam Vijay Singh told.

Singh was in his sixties while his mother Gurcharan Kaur was 92 years old. Singh had worked with many news organizations including The Tribune.

"I condemn ghastly murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother at Mohali. Urge police to nab perpetrators immediately," tweeted senior Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal.

Mr Singh, who was in his sixties, was a former news editor of The Indian Express.

Senior police officers, who are investigating the deaths, visited Mr Singh's house.
Punjab police are investigating the case from all angles.

Deceased's card, TV and some other items were found to be misplaced. Further details are looked-for.
