Brother of legendary actors Raj Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor and son of Prithviraj Kapoor, iconic star Shammi Kapoor celebrate his 87th birthday anniversary today. If he was alive today, Shammi Kapoor would have turned 87 on October 21, 2018. The legendary Bollywood actor Shammi Kapoor ruled our hearts from the 1960s to the 1970s with blockbusters hits like Teesri Manzil, Dil Deke Dekho, "An Evening in Paris", Bramhachari, Singapore, Junglee, College Girl, Professor and China Town. The legend started off his film career at the age of 22. He has worked with all famous actresses of golden era like Madhubala, Meena Kumari and Nutan, Asha Parikh. He had to wait for success till four years .

Shammi Kapoor’s personal and love life had always been grabbed the headlines. In 1955, the actor got hitched actress Geeta Bali in an off the cuff ceremony. The actor married twice, once to Geeta Bali, who died due to smallpox and had two kids, Aditya Kapoor and Kanchan Kapoor with Geeta. Later on, his second wedding was arranged by his family after which he tied in a nuptial knot with Neila Devi. Actor who was "shaukeen" everything as he was fond of cars, lavish clothes, dancing and a  luxurious life. Shammi Kapoor met with his angels on August 14, 2011 due to chronic renal failure.  He had also shared big screen with his grandnephew Ranbir Kapoor in his 2011 released film Rockstar.
