Birthday Special: The man who found the roots of BJP in India

Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the Indian politician, barrister and academician in the era when India was fighting for Independence. The well-known politician is a founder of current ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

Today India, mainly BJP is celebrating the birth of the man who founded the reigning party on 21 October 1951 in Delhi. Mukherjee departed from Indian National Congress due to his contrary views that were regularly neglected and rejected by other party members. He also served as Minister for Industry and Supply under the rule of Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. After taking oath in 1947, he resigned in 1948 to establish a community where his thoughts and opinions could have a special place.

The great opponent of Article 370, once while termed the separate priority for a Jammu and Kashmir as politics and said: “Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan aur Do Nishan nahi chalenge(a single country can't have two constitutions, two prime ministers, and two national emblems)”.

The proponent of Hindu nationalism, Mukherjee have a great importance to India as well as BJP and to mark the birth of the man who founded their roots, PM Narendra Modi sends him wishes and remarked his work by saluting his work with words like: “Dr. Mookerjee is remembered as a fine educationist, a wonderful administrator and a stalwart who fought for India's freedom as well as unity.”

 

 

He also shared a picture in which Mukherjee can be seen with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and appreciated their efforts while writing: “Sharing a picture of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Both were Ministerial colleagues and had a futuristic vision for India's growth."
