Smriti Mandhana to be first Indian to appear in England's Kia Super League

New Delhi (India), June 15 (NT): With a motivational move for all women, India Women's Cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana will become the first Indian player to participate in Kia Super League - the women's cricket super league in England.

The 21-year-old Smriti was inked by Western Storm and now she will represent them in the upcoming season of the tournament that features six teams.

Coming to her carrier Smriti has scored over 826 runs with the highest score of 76 in the 40 T20Is that she has played so far.

Last month, she was a captain for the IPL Trailblazers in the recently concluded Women's T20 Challenge, which took place ahead of the VIVO IPL Qualifier One. Smriti has also rocked in the Big Bash League for Brisbane Heat.

On this deal, Head Coach of the Western Storm Trevor Griffin stated that we are really excited that Smriti will join us.

It is should be noted that She is one of the brightest young talents in the game at the moment. Even though she is still young, she has experience of the game at the highest level.

After securing the deal Smriti asserted that  "I am very excited to be playing for the Kia Super League Champions”.
