With less than one month remaining in anticipation of the first ball is kicked in Russia's 2018 FIFA World Cup, Moscow has commenced to be crammed with soccer-themed events at The Luzhniki Stadium.

This venue which will stage the opening match on June 14 and the final on July 15, hosted a "Russia Loves Soccer" event over the weekend.

On Monday, the local organizing committee chairman Arkady Dvorkovich stated that preparations are in their final stages and they just need to put in the finishing touches before being geared up to welcome the world to Russia. Countryside and additional security systems are all that is left to add at some of the newly-built stadiums.

Schools in the 11 host cities also marked the one-month point by holding "soccer lessons" and inviting soccer personas to play a match and to speak about the tournament.

Moscow International School no.1498 greeted LOC chairman Dvorkovich and retired Russian soccer player Alexei Smertin.

Smertin, who is now the Russian Football Union's anti-discrimination superintendent, took part in a soccer match held between some of the school's students.
