Some Unknown facts about green coffee that will shock you

Green coffee is considered as the latest weight loss supplement and there are quite a few people swearing by its efficacy. The problem customers facing these days is that, instead of digging deep into the claims made by products and brands, they go by the advertisements, which might not completely true and can just be a baseless publicity gimmick. First featured in ‘The Dr Oz Show’ (a popular American health show), Green Coffee was publicised as a weight loss supplement with miraculous feedback. While many also said that it appeared more like an advertorial, the extract gained popularity and the demand soared up for this mystery potion which was earlier unknown.

But on the other hand, if coffee is believed to have a negative impact on the metabolism, then why is green coffee taken as a healthy drink? Scientists found that coffees that are unroasted coffee have high levels of chlorogenic acid – a compound which diminishes during the roasting process. Chlorogenic acid is believed to have health benefits and is said to aid in weight loss. According to Food and Drug Administration (FDA), it is essential to exercise caution when it comes to food supplements. Since more research is needed in establishing the harmlessness of green coffee, it is necessary to consult your doctor before trying it out as enough data is not available on the impact it may cause on your body.

While green coffee is believed to have the same side-effect as regular coffee which includes, upset stomach, increased heart rate, frequent urination, insomnia, restlessness and anxiety, its impact on pregnant and lactating women has not yet been established and hence they should be wary of taking it. Not only this but some researchers claim that green coffee has a vital supplement to weight loss, most of these are industry funded and conducted on a minuscule group of people for a short-term period. More research is clearly needed in this direction.
