Pakistan Cricket Board's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) has summoned Pakistani cricket player Umar Akmal in the match-fixing case. Recently, Akmal had claimed that the bookie had approached him during the Pakistan series against South Africa in the 2015 World Cup for spot-fixing and Hong Kong Sydney, UAE. Akmal has revealed this disclosure in a Pakistani news channel, which has prompted PCB Anti-Corruption Unit to appear on June 27.
Akmal recently disclosed in an interview to a TV channel Sama TV in Pakistan that in the 2015 World Cup, he was offered to give two million US dollars to play two dot balls against India. Akmal said that during the Hong Kong Super Sixes tournament in the year 2012, Satori had his first contact with him, then Akmal was playing in the captaincy of his brother Kamran Akmal. After that, the speculators approached him before the India-Pakistan match in the 2015 World Cup.
Akmal said that, when he was in the team, during the matches against India, the spears have contacted him many times for spot-fixing. He told that many of the bookies have been caught with my help and I do not think any other player would have given so much information to the PCB.
Akmal said, "An officer connected to our team during the Hong-Kong Super Six Series came to my room at around 3 in the night, when I had a board of 'do not disturb' outside the room. He asked me to talk to me for 5 minutes at night. When I called him in my room, he said that he will send the money to my account in any country of the world."
Umar Akmal recently disclosed these things in an interview given to a Pakistani TV news channel. After this, the Pakistan Cricket Board Anti-Corruption Unit has issued summons to Umar Akmal for questioning.
