The visitors Sri Lanka upset the host nation on Sunday. Sri Lanka beats Bangladesh by huge 75 runs to sweep the two-match T20 international series 2-0. The visitors had also clinched the ODI tri-series also involving Zimbabwe before claiming the two-Test series 1-0 earlier this month. Put into bat the visitors posted a mammoth total 210 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs with in-form openers Kusal Mendis (70) and Danushka Gunathilaka (42) starring with the bat while Sri Lanka all-rounder Thisara Perera blast 31 runs and Dasun Shanaka (30*) also made useful contributions in the middle order.

It was Sri Lankan opener Mendis who knock was laced with six boundaries and three sixes while his opening partner smashed three fours and two maximums. The duo added 98 runs for the first wicket to give their team the start that they were looking for.

In reply Bangladesh got bowled out for 135 in 18.4 overs with captain Mahmudullah ending up as the highest scorer for his side with 41 and opener Tamim Iqbal added 29. Pace bowler Shehan Madushanka and off-spinner Akila Dananjaya reduced Bangladesh to 22-3 in three overs before opener Tamim Iqbal and captain Mahmudullah put on their stand. Sri Lankan bowlers were able to stem the run flow that resulted in the wicket of Tamim for 29. Tamims dismissal virtually sealed Bangladeshs fate. Madushanka and Danushka Gunathilaka claimed two wickets apiece.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 210/4 in 20 overs (Danushka Gunathilaka 42, Kusal Mendis 70) beat Bangladesh 135 in 18.4 overs (Mahmudullah 41; Shehan Madushanka 2-23) by 75 runs.
