Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent summons in connection with the investigation of money laundering case against Rabri Devi, wife of RJD chief Lalu Prasad and son Taskhish Yadav, for the maintenance of IRCTC hotels. An ED official told IANS that stunning Yadav was called on November 20 and Rabri Devi on November 24.   

Earlier on November 13, the Financial Investigation Agency had questioned him for the second time, which ran for eight and eight hours. ED had questioned him nine hours on October 10. ED has sent seven summons against Rabri Devi, but she has not reached the investigation agency for questioning in the case. 

In the case of the Directorate of Enforcement, the case is being scrutinized under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), against her father and the RJD leader Lalu Prasad and others in the family.  After filing an FIR on behalf of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the ED has registered a case under PMLA on July 27 and the agency is allegedly probing the misappropriation of money through fake companies in this case.   

During the CBI's Laloo's tenure as railway minister, the July 5 against Lalu Prasad, Rabri Devi and Tejaswi Yadav for alleged irregularities in getting the contract for two hotels in Ranchi and Puri in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for a private company in 2006. Had filed an FIR.   

According to the CBI, the contracts were given to Sujata Hotels owned by Vijay and Vinay Kochar, in which Lalu Parivar was allegedly given a plot at a prominent place in Bihar in lieu of bribe.  In this case, promoter of Ahluwalia Contractors, Bikramjit Singh Ahluwalia, who has been questioned in the case, Sarla Gupta, wife of former Union Minister Premchand Gupta and then PCT of the then managing director of IRCTC. Goyal is also an accused in the case.
