The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reproach by the Supreme Court on Thursday in connection with the delay in the implementation of Justice (Retd.) R.M. Lodha-led committee's recommendations.

Warnings have been issued to three BCCI office bearers - Anirudh Choudhary, Amitabh Choudhary and C.K. Khanna and the court asked the three of them to give suggestions on the cash-rich cricket body's draft constitution or else face serious consequences.

For the suggestions to Committee of Administrators (CoA) for a new constitution, the BCCI  office bearers have been given a three-week deadline by the Supreme Court. Before the 30th October, the date of next hearing the trio has been also asked to personally appear before the court.

The court on 23 August had instructed the Committee of Administrators (CoA) to prepare a draft of the new constitution as per the Lodha panel recommendations which would be based on its directions of July 18, 2016.

The CoA had said that the BCCI officials also used the Supreme Court's expression of 'etc' to bring in a series of issues aimed at unravelling the fundamental core of reforms mandated by the apex court.

The Supreme court in a  landmark judgment on July 18, 2016, accepted major recommendations of Justice R.M. Lodha-led panel on structural reforms in the BCCI and had given six months deadline to the board implement the recommendations.
