Supreme Court seeks information on objectionable video from Google and Facebook

The Supreme Court has directed the giant Internet companies such as Google, Yahoo and Facebook and Instant Messaging App Whatsapp to provide information about complaints received from India for uploading objectionable content related to child pornography, misbehavior, and gang rape. 

The Supreme Court has asked for such information received from them last year and August 31 this year and also the action taken by them on such complaints.

A bench of Justice Madan B Lokur and Lalit directed the Home Ministry to give him information about the prosecutions under the provisions of the Pokey Act, 2012. 

The bench said, "We want that the participating companies Google, Google India, Yahoo, Microsoft, Facebook and WTSAP, the number of complaints received from India last year and till 31st August this year and the affidavits about the steps taken on them Filed in matters related to child pornography, misbehavior, gang related material related to crime. " 

The court was hearing a letter sent by the non-governmental organization, Hyderabad to the then Chief Justice H L Duttu, and in the case of sending two videos of the rape to Pen Drive. The Supreme Court, in this case, took cognition on the letter, instructing the CBI to investigate and arrest the guilty.
