New Delhi [India], May 18 (NT): Amid high-voltage political hullabaloo, the Supreme Court on Friday will resume its hearing on Congress' plea on the subject of Karnataka Governor's decision to invite the saffron Party (BJP) first to form a government in Cauvery disputed state.

The top court will also hear senior lawyer Ram Jethmalani's petition to have an urgent hearing on the same.

After declaration of Karnataka Polls result BJP emerging as the single largest party by winning 104 seats, followed by Congress (78) and the JD-(S), which bagged 37 seats.

Now the Governor's move triggered the a huge political drama and force  Congress to file a plea in the Supreme Court on late Wednesday after which an unusual midnight hearing by the three-judge bench of justice A.K. Sikri, justice S.A. Bobde and justice Ashok Bhushan was held that commenced from 2.20 AM and concluded to 5.30 AM with the decision to not put stay on BS Yedurappa’s Swear-in ceremony

Yesterday BJP leader B. S. Yeddyurappa  was sworn in as the 23rd chief minister of Karnataka at 9 AM  .

Yeddyruppa took oath as intended but he has been ordered to turn out the two letters dated May 15 and 16 he has written to Governor Vajubhai Vala to pledge his claim for government formation.
