On Thursday, the official website of Supreme Court was assumed to be hacked in the morning. But the news was not confirmed by the court officials. The top court officials have confirmed that the website had become "non-functional" in the morning. The incident took place at 11.35 am. Along with this, they have also said that all the efforts were being made to resort normalcy.

The screenshot of the top court web page was circulated on some of the social media sites. The image showed signs left by some Brazilian hackers who may have targeted it. An image includes cannabis leaves, with a message saying "hackeado por HighTech Brazil HacTeam". According to the reports later in the day, when people attempted to reach the website supremecourtofindia.nic.in was showing the result read "site under maintenance".

The officials who reported the problem have gone non-committal on the problem. They stated that the top court's information technology department was in touch with the NIC and the site would be restored soon, preferably by the evening. When they were asked repeatedly, they said they are not authorised to speak on the issue. They could only state that the website was under the process of recovery but cannot confirm it has been hacked without any evidence.
