The highest earning Indian team in world cricket will play 203 international matches in the next five years (2018-2023) in various fields. In these five years' future tour program (FTP), the Indian team is expected to play 51 Test matches, 83 ODIs, and 69 T20 Internationals. The number of matches in India is second only to West Indies (186) and England (175 matches) in the third place.

Contrary to popular belief, the Indian team is second in terms of playing Test matches. In this period England is likely to play 59 Tests, while Australia is at number three with 47 Test matches.  In case of one-day and T-20, India is ahead of the West Indies (75 ODIs and 68 T20).

A senior BCCI official said that now FTP is like a bilateral agreement but the ICC has also made its suggestion in the construction of calendar (FTP).  Those who think that the BCCI is ignoring test matches, they should breathe a bit of relief that we are playing more than 50 test matches in the next five years.

Looking at the burden of matches of the Indian team (due to the IPL), its number will decrease every year. The team has to play 54 matches in the 2018-19 season, followed by 41, 33, 40 and 35 matches in the next four seasons respectively.
