Tenth day of Asian Indoor Games: India clinch five more medals

In the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games at Ashgabat, Turkmenistan last evening the Indians added five more medals in their side i.e a gold, a silver, and three bronze medals. The player Sourav Kothari in the finals of the men's English billiards singles event defeated Praprut Chaithanasakun of Thailand by  3-1 and clinched Gold for the India.

The Indian tennis duo Vishnu Vardhan and Prarthana Thombare in the mixed doubles suffered a defeat in front of Thai pair of Nuttanon Kadchapanan and Nicha Lertpitaksinchai by 7-5, 4-6, 2-6 and settled for a silver medal.

Well, in the men's freestyle event the Indian wrestlers Sandeep Tomar (61kg) and Deepak (86kg) clinched bronze medals and in the 58kg category of the women's freestyle medal player, Pooja Dhanda also bagged a bronze medal.

In the Games, only two days are remaining and with the seven gold, eight silver and 14 bronze India stands at 12th place.

On the ninth day of the games on Sunday the Indian players added four medals including a gold medal in their side. The women wrestlers Sheetal Tomar in freestyle -48kg category and Navjot Kaur in freestyle -69kg event clinched a bronze medal each.

In the games, more than  200 athletes in 15 sports are representing India which is said as the second biggest multi-sporting event of the continent after the Asian Games.
