Kabul airport was on Wednesday evacuated after being attacked by a number of rockets that landed near its house. As per the latest reports, flights from Kabul airport and to Hamid Karzai International Airport have been canceled following the attack by the Taliban. Meanwhile, no casualties or damage have been reported. The incident was reported shortly after US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and NATO leader Jens Stoltenberg arrived in the Afghan capital for talks. Taliban has claimed the responsibility for the attack, a media report said.

Reports indicate that 20-30 rockets landed at the airport and surrounding area. Afghan media also claims that the target could be the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) base which is adjoining airport.
