Party president Rahul holds responsible to internal strife for poor performance in Himachal.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, who visited Himachal Pradesh for the first time on Friday after taking charge of the party, made a statement that that internal power struggle had led to overcome and poor show in the recently concluded Assembly polls.

Nothing like Gujarat, where the party was followed a cohesive approach and remained united consequentially put up a good performance, it was defectively divided in the hilly State, Gandhi’s scion said. The Congress has been overpowered only by the Congress, he said, hinting at the role of the factions led by former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and PCC president Sukhwinder Singh. “We could have won had we fought as one,” he said. The party got only 21 seats of 68 in the Assembly.

The Congress president tip off that those who had worked not in favor of the party would not be past the worst, be it a Minister or somebody else. Some of the Ministers and senior leaders of the party had dissociated themselves with the a load when the party was in power, Rahul said, and averred that he had such reports with him.
