The French government has clarified the allegations of Congress president Rahul Gandhi's scandal in Rafale deals. France says that he saw and heard Rahul Gandhi's statement in the Indian Parliament. There was a security agreement between France and the Indian government in 2008.

Under this, both countries will not make any such information public which will affect the operational and security capabilities of the deal. Both countries are legally bound to it. This same provision applies to the deal on September 23, 2016, under which a decision on the purchase of 36 Rafael fighter aircraft and its weapons between India and France has been decided.

On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi has said that he is firm in his statement. After the reaction of the French government, he said that the president of that country, Emmanuel Macron, told him that there was no secret clause in this deal. When Macron had said this to him then (former Prime Minister) Dr Manmohan Singh and Anand Sharma were with them.

Also, in his speech, Rahul had talked about Modi not being able to make an eye contact with him. Replying to his comment, Narendra Modi, in a mocking way asserted, "Talking about eyes, we have seen quite a lot of eye movement today."
