Farming is a business of profit making in the country. This is a plan to increase the income of farmers. The government has started ambitious work to double the income of farmers in the next five years i.e. by 2022. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said this on Saturday. He said that the country's economy is largely dependent on the prosperity of the farmers.   

Jaitley said that the large population of India is dependent on farming for their livelihood. "Therefore, it is important for us to increase the purchasing power of people engaged in farming because the growth of the macroeconomy depends on the economic strength and strength of this group," he said. He said that the agriculture community in the world is very sensitive And the country has adopted a variety of ways to support this region. 

In a program of NABARD, the Finance Minister said, "Some very developed countries have been direct, or through different types of subsidies, to ensure that the money has come in their farmers' pockets. In countries where there is no power to carry such a burden, they still have to face the challenge of maintaining the credibility of their farmers. "

About the Government's initiative in this direction, the Finance Minister said that the Government of India By 2022, we are trying to double the income of farmers. He said, "In our case in India, we have ambitious programs while under the borders of our carrying capacity. Under this, in the first attempt, we have worked to improve structural facilities in the rural areas. With this, we are also seeing how to increase their income. " 

Jaitley said that the government is doing a number of measures like providing roads, rural electrification, development of irrigation facilities and providing regular accommodation facilities in rural areas. Other steps to be taken in this direction include credit availability, interest subsidy and crop insurance. 

Financial Services Secretary Rajiv Kumar said on this occasion that the banks have taken several steps to provide credit facilities to the agriculture community. National Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (NABARD) chairman HK Bhanwala said that doubling the income of farmers by 2022 will save the farmers from uncertainty.
