New Delhi: Today is the last date for linking the Aadhaar and the PAN. The government has increased the time for linking the Aadhaar with Pan for 4 months. That is, you can now link your Aadhaar and pan by 31st December. We told you yesterday that the Ministry of Finance is going to extend the deadline to connect Pan on the Aadhaar. This deadline was ending today.

The Income Tax Department had said on July 31 that till the result that the Aadhaar is not constitutionally valid, taxpayers will have to add their pans to the Aadhaar by August 31, 2017. On August 28, UIDAI had said that the last date for linking the base and PAN will not be changed.

The UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) had said that the fixed timeframe for taxpayers will be retained for the Aadhaar of their PAN. On August 26, the Supreme Court's decision on the right to privacy will not affect the need for linking the Aadhaar and the PAN.

Although some time ago, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had assured in Parliament that no last date has been kept for linking the Aadhaar and the PAN. But after the last date for linking the Aadhaar and the Pan itself on 27th August many people had come to the point of concern.
