Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Padmavati is in a lot of controversies these days. Alauddin Khilji, the character of the film, is also in the discussion. The duck was the sultan of the Delhi Sultanate.  He made such economic reforms in his reign (1296-1316), which was not only revolutionary in those days, but also beneficial to the general public. Therefore, it can be said that the prices of eggs and vegetables are not booming at this time, at least in its reign.
Khaliji's  Economic reforms of the market ranged from regulation to control the prices of essential food items. He was the first ruler to take control of the prices of consumer goods. Due to this initiative, during the rule of Khaliji, prices remained under control for almost 10 years, which was benefited by the common people. We should also know about the five important economic reforms of Khilji's reign, which can still be effective today -
Construction and regulation of the agricultural market in Mandi: Khilji had regulated agricultural market till Kara near Dipalpur and Lahore from Allahabad in UP. By bringing all the lands of this entire area under an umbrella, the land revenue was fixed half of the production value. They also measured the land. There was no additional duty on the villagers. It is believed that these reforms came to the people of far-flung villages even near the Sultanate. The distance between cities and villages decreased.
Khilji made three markets in Delhi: One for food items, one for expensive things like clothes, sugar, ghee, oil and dry fruits and for the third horse, slaves, and cattle. It is believed that the concept of cattle fairs like Pushkar and Sonpur came from here.
Control of Food Prices: Khilji made a system for control of food supply from the villages. Under this, the traders were made mandatory to buy grains from the villages. Price hinges on prices. The work that is being done by FCI today, can be called a developed form of this.
Ban on hoarding and black marketing: Khilji opened Royal Storrs in Delhi to keep enough stock of food items there. It cannot be profitable by generating an artificial shortage of goods and then increasing its prices. The grains were first stored locally at the time of Khilji's reign. Then he was sent to Delhi. This also ensures food security. Today, FCI Comvovis does the same thing.
Khilji also improved the clothing market. By giving protection to the wealthy traders, they entrusted them with the possibility of getting other commodities including clothes from remote areas, including abroad. They were told that they did not sell any of these items in the middle and sell the fixed market for the clothes only at the price fixed by the Sultanate.
