Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam found that a Congress politician had complained to party president Rahul Gandhi. Nirupam removed Ganesh Kamble from the party. Kamble has contested the assembly elections on Congress ticket and has been the former president of Mumbai Congress's SC-ST Cell. Nirupam has suspended Ganesh Kamble for 6 years. Prior to the functioning of Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam, former Union Minister of State Gurdas Kamat and many old leaders are already angry.

Now the young leaders of the Congress have also begun their resignation. Kamble, who was Congress candidate from Goregaon in Goregaon, was present on the occasion of Rahul's visit to Mumbai. He welcomed the national president, but Nirupam flashed on this motive. On this, Kamble wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi and complained. From this, Nirupam has expelled Kamble from the party.

Even before this, a congress member called Rahul Gandhi 'Pappu' on social media and got expelled from the party. After having terms like ‘Pappu’  now Congress President Rahul Gandhi was called as ‘mand-buddhi’. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Chhattisgarh said that the kind of things he says is surprising for each and every one. BJP leader Saroj Pandey reportedly said, “Rahul is definitely trying to learn but there is an age to learn, a person who learns after the age of 40 cannot be called learned, such a person is called ‘mand-buddhi’”.
