Here is the good news for all the candidates who gave II pre-university examinations. Because the pre-university education department has said they’ll get grace marks in English and physics papers.

Students had complained of several grammatical and other errors in the English paper, and a wrong five-mark question in the physics paper.

As per the Karnataka Pre-university Course State-level Public Examination (Amendment) Rules 2017, the department can award grace marks where it deems fit. Following the recommendations of two independent expert committees, the department decided to award 3 grace marks in English and up to 6 marks in physics.

“All students will be awarded the 3 grace marks in English. In physics, all will be awarded one mark for the compulsory question, but only those who attempted the optional 5-mark question will receive 5 grace marks,” said C Shikha, director of the department of pre-university education.
