State-owned telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has rolled out two new plans to lure its prepaid customers. The company has launched two new recharge coupons, one at Rs 249 and the other at Rs 429 for its prepaid users.

The company calls the Rs 249 recharge plan as a 'Promotional STV'. The Rs 249 recharge will get you unlimited local and STD calling from BSNL to BSNL and 1 GB of 3G data a day. The offer is valid for 28 days which means 28 GB data in total.

BSNL's Rs 429 recharge voucher is also for prepaid users only. It offers 1GB data for 90 days along with unlimited calling benefits. Plan benefits With Rs 249 user will get unlimited calling along with 28GB data for 28 days. The voice calling benefit is applicable only from BSNL to BSNL. The Rs 429 plan will offer unlimited calling along with 90 GB data for 90 days. he Promotional STV of Rs 249 from BSNL takes a direct shot at Jio's Rs 149 plan which is also meant for prepaid users and comes with 28 days' validity.

However, with Jio user gets unlimited voice calls on any network and not just on Jio unlike in BSNL where the voice calling benefit is limited for BSNL to BSNL only. Jio at Rs 399 offers 84GB data for 84 days along with unlimited voice calls and unlimited SMS. Please note that Jio is providing 4G data while BSNL data speed is capped at 3G. BSNL recently also launched some STVs for cutting down the call rate.
