Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' marks the first onscreen collaboration of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt. The film, based on the lives of two rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy will see Ranveer put on display his rapping skills and reportedly, Kalki Koechlin too has joined the cast and will play a rapper like Ranveer.

We were aware that the last two weeks have been all about prepping for the movie, however, it seems like the movie has finally gone on floors today. Zoya took to Instagram to commemorate the first day of the shoot too by sharing a picture of 'Gully Boy's' clapper. Reportedly, Ranveer has already been recording songs with the help of a few well-known street rappers and Alia and Ranveer had various script-reading sessions in the past few weeks too.

Recently, whilst interacting with the media, Ranveer had said, "In January itself, I start 'Gully Boy' for which I collaborate with Zoya, who is very dear and special in my life as a collaborator, person as well as a director." The actor was also all praises for his co-star Alia and added, "Also, it's my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today's day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness."
