The arrival of Kiwis in India seems to be not great start after the loss in the match against Board President. The start of New Zealand’s tour of India began on a poor note as they lost to the Board President’s XI by 30 runs in a warm-up match in Mumbai on Tuesday. Chasing 296 to win, New Zealand was dismissed for 265. Tom Latham was the top-scored for New Zealand with a 63-ball 59 runs. Earlier, New Zealand’s Trent Boult took five wickets for 38 runs as the Board President’s XI scored 295/9 in 50 overs. For the hosts, Karun Nair (78), KL Rahul (68) and Prithvi Shaw (66) were the top scorers. The Kiwis arrived as many as 10 days before what their captain Kane Williamson called it a ‘short tour’ to leave no stone unturned in preparations for the three-match ODI and T20I series against India.

In India is not very good as they lost their first practice match against Board President XI. A 147-run stand - featuring near identical fifty-plus scores off two distinctly unlike innings - between KL Rahul and Prithvi Shaw set up a 30-run victory for Board President's XI in the first warm-up game against a full-strength New Zealand side in Mumbai. Captain Kane Williamson and Tom Latham made granular contributions, but three-for from Shahbaz Nadeem and Jaydev Unadkat restricted the visitors' chase.
