UM International, a US motorcycle manufacturer, is going to develop a motorcycle that has an engine capacitor of 300 ccs to 700 ccs. This work is being done in India. According to a news agency, the company is preparing the R & D center in Maharashtra and Tamilnadu. The company is going to invest about Rs 100 crore on this plan. 

UM's plan is to present a 400cc V-Twin engine with an adventure-oriented motorcycle in the year 2018 Auto Expo. According to the information, the company is going to start its new plant in Hyderabad. There is a plan to make 1 lakh units in this new plant. The price of the Range Commando Classic (ex-showroom Delhi) is 1.89 lakh and the cost of Renegade Commando Mojave is being mentioned as 1.80 lakhs.

Both bikes have 279.5cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. It generates 25.15PS power at 8,500rpm and 23Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. There is a possibility that both the bikes will compete with Royal Enfield Thunderbird.

Currently, UM has a production plant in Uttrakhand, which has a production capacity of 50,000 units a year. BS states that by March 2018, the company plans to sell over 25,000 units; with the Classic range amounting to 30 percent of the sales.
